KREG & JENNY MALLOW

OMF International

ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

We are OMF International (formerly the China Inland Mission and Overseas Missionary Fellowship), founded by James Hudson Taylor in 1865. We serve the church and bring the gospel to many of the countries in East Asia, and we have a pioneering ministry in the rest. We help place Christians with professional skills in China and other Asian countries and share the love of Christ with East Asians worldwide.

MISSIONARIES' BIO

Kreg and Jenny Mallow have been working in Cambodia as missionaries since 1991. They first came to Ratanakiri province in NE Cambodia in 1993. Over the years they have been involved in sharing the gospel and demonstrating the love of Christ through bilingual literacy, health, and other community development activities.

Jenny (Cambodian name Samphos) was born in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in 1961 and raised in a Buddhist family. She knew little of Christianity as a child. She lived in Cambodia during the genocidal Khmer Rouge regime of 1975-79. God kept her alive through this difficult time in order for her to share about him with her suffering people. Both Jenny and Kreg came to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ around 1979. Jenny became interested in Christianity when living in Cambodian refugee camps in Thailand. In 1981, Jenny, her widowed mother, and five siblings all immigrated to Chicago where they joined the Cambodian congregation at Uptown Baptist Church. She attended ESL classes and later worked to help support her mother and younger siblings.

Kreg was born in Independence, Missouri, in 1962 in a Christian home and attended church regularly as a child. At ten years of age, he was baptized. He had knowledge about God but had not yet given his heart to the Lord Jesus. He finally gave his heart to the Lord during his junior year of high school. Kreg graduated with a BS in business administration and then a DDS from Loyola University Dental School in Chicago. While at university, Kreg felt a call to overseas missionary service. This happened over a period of years while going on short-term mission trips and attending several missions conferences. He began attending Uptown Baptist Church in Chicago in 1985. In 1989 Kreg volunteered a summer to work in the Cambodian refugee camps in Thailand. After returning, Kreg began to get involved in the Cambodian congregation at his church.

Jenny and Kreg met at their church in Chicago in 1989. They were married in 1990 and left to serve in Cambodia as missionaries in 1991. For the next 13 years, they were involved in Christian relief and development ministry to the Cambodian people through World Concern. While on sabbatical in 2002 Kreg earned an MA in theology and missions from Wheaton College Graduate School. This marked a new phase in their ministry where they desired to serve in church planting with OMF in Cambodia. The Mallows have two sons who have grown up in Cambodia. Sammy was born October 14, 1993, and Tommy was born September 23, 1995.
