Our Mission

Family Church is on a mission of building a community of devoted followers of Jesus who are reaching the community both locally and globally with the gospel. Jesus said, “(as you) go make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20) This statement is known as the “Great Commission.” Family Church exists to carry out this mandate and it fuels everything we do and who we are. We are committed to this mission and express these ideas with a simple statement… "Building a community to reach the community"

What is the Good News?

The gospel is called the 'good news' because it addresses the most serious problem that you and I have as human beings. So, in order to grasp the good news, we must first understand the bad news

The Bad News: The problem the Bible reveals is that God is perfectly holy, just, and good, and we are not. We reject Him by choosing to indulge our sinful desires, which is an action of rebellion against God. Because of this, our relationship with God is hostile due to our rejection of Him, and in order for God to be truly good He must punish those in sinful rebellion against Him. Due to this sinful nature we are seen as being spiritually dead.  (Ephesians 2:1)

The Good News: Not only is God just, He is also loving. Therefore, He entered human history as Jesus to live in perfect obedience to God, and die in our place for our sins. His resurrection verified the payment for sin was accepted, so that anyone who turns away from their sin and place their faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord, will be saved. When our sins are placed on Jesus, then His perfect righteousness is also credited to us and we are seen as righteous because of what Jesus has done. The evidence of genuine faith is a growing desire to walk in obedience to God. Through faith in Christ we are made alive! (Ephesians 2:4-5)
